Many people assume that clearing a chat or deleting the app wipes the memory. Often it doesn't. Deleting the app removes it from your phone but not your data from the company's servers. Erasing memory typically requires an explicit action inside the app — a "reset memory" or "delete account" option — and the scope of that deletion isn't always clear.

Ask whether deletion is immediate or scheduled, whether it covers backups and any data already used in training, and whether deleting a single memory differs from deleting your whole account. Where you live may grant you a legal right to deletion, but you usually have to invoke it.
